About Library

Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s, Institute of Management and Research Library was founded in 1994, in MGV'S Campus, Panchavati, Nashik, it is one of the leading institutional libraries. Our college includes a well-kept library with around 14,200 volumes of current publications and journals. Students, faculty members, researchers, and guests can use the reading room. The library is well-stocked with audiovisual aids and is fully automated with standard library software. For MBA students, the library has established an In-House Book Bank Facility Scheme. MGV's IMR Library has signed MOUs with the other local libraries.

Vision Mission Goals and Objectives

The Institute Library through multi-platform social media services have the primary role of offering collection of resources and services to MGV's IMR students, faculty members, and researchers. The Library's vision, mission, goals, and objectives are based on the mission statement of the institution, of which the library organization is an integrated component and in deep learning in education.

To provide access to information resources and advanced services to support blended teaching, learning programs and research.

Mission :

* To support the institution as well as academic and it's stakeholder by providing seamless access

*To improve the collection of resources across formats to serve the interest of the user community

Library Advisory Committee

The function of the Library Advisory Committee is to support the functioning of the library so that it can facilitate the library development plans by advocating the library development activities with the management. This is to act as channel of communication and dialogue between the Library system and it’s users.

Objectives of Library Advisory Committee

MGV’s IMR Library believes that effective governance is the key to provide the quality education. In order to meet this aim, MGV’s IMR Library tries to provide every student a high quality learning experience by adopting the following parameters as the objectives…..


*To support Teaching, learning and research activities actively and innovatively.

**To develop a clear promotional policy to the library staff and thus enhance the maintenance of collection.

*To disseminate current information on various subjects to all the library users in time both online and physical.

*Providing common system to access and use all in – house generated resources.

*To deliver the services as per the changing needs of our users.

Formation of Library Advisory Committee

Roles and responsibility of Library Advisory Committee

*To provide general direction to the Library

*To review, rewrite and approve library procurement policy

*To negotiate and approve subscription to online databases (e-journals, e-books and datasets)

*To formulate the policy for library use and procedure to be framed

*To review the functioning of the library with regards to it’s support to the academic programs of the institute

*To outline the library collection development policy as and when required, for it’s implementation

*To monitor and evaluate, from time to time, trends and developments in information technologies, networking, library automation, library co-operation etc.

*The committee shall reconstitute once in three years.

*Minutes of the meeting shall be recorded and circulated to all members for consideration and approval.

Meeting Frequency : The Library Advisory Committee meet Quarterly Basis to review the library affairs and if necessary, more often.

Minutes of the Meeting : Meeting minutes shall be recorded by the Librarian, as a member secretary and circulated to all members for consideration and approval.

Library Services

The MGV’s IMR Library provides Library Services as well as best and innovative practices that develop the interest of reading and promote the habits between the students.

01. Online Public Accessible Catalogue :

This service is offered at the Library main entrance. Students can search MGV’s IMR Library Collection via the Online Public Accessible catalogue, which is offered by standardized library software.

02. Open Access Facility :

All MGV’s IMR Library members, including students, faculty members, MGV Visitors as well as users have physical access to the Library’s collections and resources.

03. Lending Service :

The users can be issued the required book using the Library software system by scanning the book’s Barcode Number with a Barcode reader.

04. Reference Service :

The reference service is a personalized service provided to the library patrons to aid them in locating information from library collections as well as online catalogue databases and other e-resources.

05. Current Awareness Service:

To keep library patrons informed about recent advancements in the fields of management, economics, managerial accounting, and business management, the library offers a current awareness service in the form of an e-mail alerting them to new papers, books, and news items.

06. User Orientation Program:

At the start of each academic year, a user orientation program is delivered to newly admitted students and faculty members. The orientation program gives users a general overview of the library, its services and resources, how to use the catalogue, and where to find resources, among other things.

07. Literature Search / Inter-library loan:

Library has established contacts with different libraries in MGV’s Campus, to meet the varied information needs of library clientele. Library procures the resources which are not available in its own collection required for the clientele from other libraries on inter library loan.

08. Book Bank:

Book bank facility is a separate service of the library having collection on course specific text books. The MGV’s IMR Library start to provide the In-House book bank facility to all MGV’s IMR students on filling the prescribed application form. Students are given text books of each subject for the entire semester.

09. Internet Service :

Library has provides the Internet access service to the students and staff members.

10. New Arrival Display :

There is a new arrival display rack where the newly arrived books and non book materials are displayed. A list of new books is also displayed on the library notice board.

11. Reading Room :

There two sections in reading room one is for faculty where faculty consult the text books, reference books, general books etc. and second is for students where students consult text books, reference books, encyclopedias, dictionary general books etc

12. Question Bank :

MGV’s IMR library collect and preserve the university exam and internal exam question papers on different subjects in print as well as e-format.

13. Periodical section :

In periodical section there are different types of journal on different subject related management era. The current journals are not for loan or home lending. The users can read them through the sitting in reading room.

14. Delente:

The library is a DELNET database institutional member, which provides teachers and students with access to e-journals and e-books via a Broad Band link

01.Library Web page –

The MGV’s IMR Library creates its different website for the library users which provides the updated information of the library. The low budget academic library can use the free Google tool for creating the separate webpage like https://sites.google.com. The Mgv’s Imr Library creates it’s different webpage i.e. https://sites.google.com/view/mgvs-imr-library/home

02.Social Media Group –

The MGV’s IMR Library creates the online library social media group or WhatsApp library group. To provide the daily current affairs news, free e-books, share the links of e-literature on various renowned personalities, online free reference tools, etc. The Mgv’s Imr library creates WhtasApp library group

Library Extention Activities

01.Books Exhibition Prorgram :

The MGV’s IMR Library arrange the book exhibition program through for newly admitted students.

02.Knowledge Share and Word of the day :

The Librarian distributes the Word of the Day and the Daily Five English Vocabulary Words via the Library Whats App group to students in order to help them improve their vocabulary.

03.Occasional Activity :

The library should share the online and offline information resources as well as arrange the different activities for the users on the different occasion and birth anniversary as well as martyrs day of renowned personalities. For example World book day, Librarian Day, Birth anniversary of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Revolution day, etc. The Mgv’s Imr Library done all the above mentioned activities on a regular basis.

Library SOP’s

Library Manual

It is a offline reference source of library. This provides standardize operating system of the overall procedures of the library. Like acquisition process, library layout, library budget, subscription process, newspaper subscription, question paper archives, library membership, book circulation, library user footfall, innovative practices in library, library activity, stock verification process, weed out policy, etc.

Library User Guide Manual

The MGV’s IMR Library creates this reference tool on yearly basis. This tool helps to users to disseminate the awareness of introduction of the library, vision, mission, library hours, various users of the library, library rules, services, etc. it also called the “KNOW YOUR LIBRARY” to the Library user guide manual. And it will make available for the students

SOP’s

The Mgv’s Imr library creates Standardized Operating Procedures of overall functioning of the library.

Memorandum of Understanding

A memorandum of understanding is a type of agreement two (bilateral) or more (multilateral) parties. It does explain a convergence of will between the parties, indication an intended common line of action. The Mgv’s Imr library start creates the MOU with the other libraries.

Library General Rules

The institute library has the right to maintain it’s facilitates in a clean, pleasant and safe manner.
*While entering in the library students should keep their bag’s on the rack and enter their name in attendance register
*Every student must produce his/her Identity Card while borrowing the Books.
*Conservation, talking, sleeping and Tiffin taking are not allowed in the library premises.
*Books will be issued as per the Time Table only.
*Maximum No of three books will be issued for 7 Days only
*Only one Magazine/Periodical/Journal will be Issued for 5 Days only.
*Only one project report will be issued for 15 days.
*Current Magazine/Periodical/Journal will be issued for the Library Reference only.
*Books Issued on Identity Card, must be returned on the Same Day, maximum by 4:00 P.M.
*Issued books must be return within 7 days, otherwise a fine of Rs. 2/- will be charged for per day per book
*If the book is lost, the concerned student has to pay 1 ½ of the original price of book.
*Tube Lights, Fans should be Switched Off before leaving the library.
*Do not disturb Order of the Books in the Cupboards or Racks.
*All Books should be returned within one week after the end of University Exam.
*Silence must be maintained in Library.
*Be respectful with library staff and others, your manners are appreciated

14.दिनांक ०४ सप्टेम्बर, २०२० रोजी आंतरराष्ट्रीय वेबीनारचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. या आंतरराष्ट्रीय वेबीनारसाठी तज्ञ व्याख्याता म्हणून डॉ. झाकीर हुसेन - संचालक, टिचर, लायब्रेरियन ऑफ इंटरनॅशनल स्कूल ऑफ स्वित्झर्लंड यांना आमंत्रित करण्यात आले होते. या परिषदेचा विषय : "Bridging the Scholarly Resource Gap : the potential of Open Access Resources for Academic and Research Purpose During Covid - 19" असा असून सदर परिषदेस एकूण ७२२ सभासद उपस्थित होते. सदर परिषद हि ऑनलाईन प्लॅटफॉर्मद्वारे घेण्यात आली.
